Some times there can be confusion over the term counselling. Counselling is not simply giving advice, nor is it telling people what to do. Rather, it involves forming a therapeutic alliance between the client and the counsellor in working together to achieve the goals of the client in a one to one setting. The goal is to empower the client to move forward and deal with life challenges.
Throughout history, ethical issues have been discussed in classrooms, churches, courts, governments and other areas of life. When you turn on the television or read the paper, you notice the various ethical dilemmas society is faced with. On a day to day basis, we are faced with making several life choices that involve ethical decisions.
